For the Delayed project Esther Derkx makes photographs of the typical Dutch landscape from out of a driving car or train.
While c0-driving she photographs the typical Dutch landscape with a sense of composition and colour accents. Due to the speed of the car or train the photographs get a vage and dreamy appearance. Crash barriers and windscreens along the road are returning elements. Above these arise variable green- or industrial landscapes with blue skies. Every mug has it’s own unique photograph. Because there is not one mug the same you get an endless variation of themes and colours. The name ‘Delayed’ comes from the dreamy feeling that you can get while watching the landscape passing by. As if time stops for a moment and a snapshot is taken from your view. The Delayed mugs are dishwashersafe.
