Esther Derkx' Tattoosanitary and Maatwerktegels on the Fair, bouwbeurs!
From 7 to 12 february I will present my new decorations for washbowls and other sanitary on the fair in Utrecht, The Netherlands. The new name for this line of decorations is: TATTOOSANITARY. If you would like to pay us a visit please send me an e-mail and I will send you free entree tickets in return! Tattoosanitary designs decorations for washbowls, toilets and tiles, or designs a total concept for the kitchen, bathroom or toilet. The principal chooses his own sanitary and combines this with one of the decorations of Tattoosanitary. The decorations are designed to fit on every shape of wasbowl, toilet or tiles. They are applied by hand with an eye for detail. Even the most simple washbowl looks unique with the decorations of Tattoosanitary! With the cooperation from Esther Derkx and Maatwerktegels we combine 10 years of designing experience with technical know-how which assures the principal of a quality product.
Note! The images below are scetches. The original washbowls will soon be shown at my website.

Royal Goedewaagen by Esther Derkx-introduction
Royal Goedewaagen is a pottery with a 400 year long tradition based in Nieuw Buinen, NL. After my first acqaintance with Royal Goedewaagen for the production of my ‘SWEET LOVE (licking chocolate)’ plates, I was asked to develop a new decoration for the current collection of products. In answer to this, I made a selection of 6 different products out of the current collection. Playing with the various images from archive and glazes finally resulted in the new collection ‘A-Razzle, A-Mirage en A-silence’. This range of products was launched in Milan at Superstudio Piu during the Salone del Mobile.
Intervention Cascoland / Esther Derkx
Also in Milan: on april the 15 and 16 the intervention with Cascoland in front of the Genova station took place. We were invited by Esterni for the Public Design Festival. Especially for the intervention the 'SWEET LOVE (licking chocolate)' plate is adapted (see below).

In addition I show you the newest projects that I have been working on for the last 3 months. For my Improved! line of products I gave a new design to several old washbowls in different colours, I made new tiles out of old tiles by sawing them in a different patterns, and made hart-shaped coasters from them with the design shown below. Soon to be ordered in my webshop!

New designs for washbowls and tiles at Friday Next
On september the 15th Friday Next, a new furniture-fashion- and food store at Overtoom 31 in Amsterdam opened her doors. Esther Derkx was asked to give the ladies- and gentlemans toilet a refreshing and sturdy look. For the tiles (that were attached over the original tiles) and the washbowls I designed ‘tattoe’. In the kitchen of the café my new design for tiles ‘twiet’ was applied. For more information about all my designs on tiles and sanitary please contact me using the contactform. Consternation on the Red Light Design Event (Salone, Milan 2009)
At the cocktailparty of the Red Light Design Event a visitor spontaneously started to lick off the chocolate plates of designer Esther Derkx. After pulling the man away he stumbled he just couldn't resist the plates. Esther Derkx accepted his apologies and won't charge him for the damage.
